Summer Program
Young-Uns focus for the summer program is to give the school-age children an opportunity for an educational and fun summer experience by offering them field trips and a variety of fun activities. Each week there is a theme, and activities are coordinated with that theme in mind.
The staff at Young-Uns keeps busy and stays active during the summer. All field trips are pre-planned. Families are given a summer schedule with dates, times, and additional charges for the field trips (which are always optional). Some of the activities include:
Young-Uns busses provide transportation to swimming lessons with Leisure Services at Flora Pool.

- Flora Pool
- Walks to local parks
- Community field trips such as Plays, Four Mounds, Round Two, Vertical Jump Park, Miniature Golf, Mississippi River Museum and Aquarium, Clinton Lumberkings, visits to local businesses such as Hy-vee, Fareway, Happy Joes, Swiss Valley, Fire Station; etc.
- Bounce House
